Regents’ Scholarship

Approximately $17,285 per year

Renewable for 4 years

The tuition portion of this award is funded by the Legislative Lottery Scholarship

31 ACT (1380 SAT) and 3.9 Unit GPA

Freshmen Regents’ Scholars:

1. Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.3 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).
2. Live in the Scholars Wing in Hokona Hall.


Sophomore And Above:

Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.3 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).
 

This scholarship is renewable for four years (8 consecutive semesters) provided you maintain the requirements.

National Scholars

Admitted to UNM by
February 1

Approximately $17,285 per year

Renewable for 4 years

National Merit Finalists receive an IPad

National Merit Finalist or National Achievement Finalist may be eligible

UNM National Scholars:

National Hispanic & American Indian Scholars

Approximately $8,200 per year

UNM National Hispanic & American Indian Scholars

Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.3 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).

This scholarship is renewable for four years (8 consecutive semesters) provided you maintain the requirements.

Presidential Scholarship

Complete Admissions Application and Scholarship Application by December 1

Approximately $8,186 per year

Renewable for 4 years

The tuition portion of this award is funded by the Legislative Lottery Scholarship

25 ACT (1140 SAT) and 3.75 Unit GPA and NM High School graduate or NM GED recipient

UNM Presidential Scholars:

1. Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).
2. Submit sponsor thank you letter by December 1st each year.

This scholarship is renewable for four years (8 consecutive semesters) provided you maintain the requirements.

Woodward Scholars

Priority consideration for admission applications completed by December 1

Approximately $7,380 per year

Renewable for 4 years

The tuition portion of this award is funded by the Legislative Lottery Scholarship

29 ACT (1300 SAT) and 3.5 unit GPA

Woodward  Scholars:

Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).


This scholarship is renewable for four years (8 consecutive semesters) provided you maintain the requirements.

UNM Scholars

Priority consideration for admission applications completed by December 1

Approximately $6,150 per year

Renewable for 4 years

The tuition portion of this award is funded by the Legislative Lottery Scholarship

26 ACT (1190 SAT) and 3.5 Unit GPA

UNM  Scholars:

Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).


This scholarship is renewable for four years (8 consecutive semesters) provided you maintain the requirements.

Bridge to Success

Priority consideration for admission applications completed by December 1.

Approximately $1,500 for the first semester of the freshman year

“Bridge” to Lottery Scholarship

1 semester award.  Non-renewable

23 ACT (1070 SAT) and 3.0 Unit GPA or 166 GED

To Become Eligible for the Legislative Lottery:

1. Must complete a minimum of 15 new credit hours for the first semester following graduation from NM high school (must be a New Mexico resident, U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien.)
2. Must earn at least a 2.5 GPA at the end of the first semester.

Success Grant

Priority consideration of
applicants with both Admission and Free Application for Federal Student Aid
applications completed by March 1
.

$1,000
one-time award first semester only (fall or spring). Not to be combined with
other funds awarded by the UNM Scholarship Office.

 

New
freshman only. 2.5 Unit GPA & completed FAFSA, priority given to eligible
applicants with financial need.

To Become Eligible for the Legislative Lottery:

Legislative Lottery

None

$2,503.35 per semester

Renewable for 7 consecutive semesters

At least 15 credit hours and 2.5 Unit GPA during first college semester 1. Must earn 15 new credit hours each semester (repeated classes do not count toward credit hours earned).
2. Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
3. If a student drops below the full-time (15 credit hours) status at any time throughout the semester, the scholarship will be canceled for that specific semester and the student will be responsible for all incurred charges.

Legislative Legacy Lottery

Up to $2,519.00 per semester as determined by HED and renewable for 8 semesters

Have received the Lottery Scholarship for 3 or more semesters by the end of Spring 2014 1. Must earn 12 new credit hours each semester (repeated classes do not count toward credit hours earned).
2. Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
3. If a student drops below the full-time (12 credit hours) status at any time throughout the semester, the scholarship will be canceled for that specific semester and the student will be responsible for all incurred charges.

NM Scholars

Currently, no new funds are available.

Approximate value of $16,138 per year

Plus a $200/year stipend ($100/semester)

Renewable for 4 years

23 ACT (1070 SAT) and 3.5 Unit GPA or 26 ACT (1190 SAT) and 3.0 Unit GPA

UNM Amigo Scholars:

Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).

This scholarship is renewable for four years (8 consecutive semesters) provided you maintain the requirements.

Colorado Reciprocal

For best consideration: Admitted to UNM by
December 1 for Fall Semester, October 1 for Spring Semester

Recipient pays New Mexico resident tuition rates (valued at approximately $16,138/year).

Renewable for 4 years

A limited number of tuition waivers are available. Recipients will be awarded through a selective process.

Colorado Reciprocal Recipients:

Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).

This tuition waiver is renewable for four years (8 consecutive semesters, 4 consecutive semesters for transfer) provided you maintain the requirements.

Western Undergraduate Exchange Programs (WUE & WUE Plus)

For best consideration: Admitted to UNM by
December 1 for Fall Semester, October 1 for Spring Semester

WUE recipients pay 1.5 times the resident rate. WUE Plus recipients pay New Mexico resident tuition rate. 

WUE valued at approximately $12,800. WUE Plus valued at approximately $16,138. Renewable for 4 years.

WUE: 19 ACT (910 SAT) and 3.0 Unit GPA.

WUE Plus: 22 ACT (1030 SAT) and 3.0 Unit GPA.

Eligible candidates are residents of AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, ND, NV, SD, OR, UT, WA, WY; must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

WUE Recipients:

Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).

This tuition waiver is renewable for four years (8 consecutive semesters, 4 consecutive semesters for transfer) provided you maintain the requirements.
